Vivage Senior Living to Require COVID Vaccinations for All Employees

Lakewood, CO — Vivage Senior Living, based in Lakewood, Colorado, one of the largest post-acute rehab and nursing home providers in the state of Colorado, announced that in order to protect the health and safety of our residents, employees, visitors, and the general community and in support with the Governor Polis vaccine mandate for Colorado health care workers there will be a mandate for all Vivage employees and visiting care partners in Colorado to be COVID-19 vaccinated or to show proof of recovery from a prior COVID infection in order to work in Vivage communities.

The dates for vaccine compliance will be aligned with the geographic areas of Colorado including following the Denver County requirement for mandatory vaccine by September 30, 2021. Case by case consideration will be given for medical and religious exemptions. For those outside Denver County who are worried that the vaccines do not have full FDA approval, there is an option to agree to be vaccinated as soon as this occurs. This announcement was made in an email to all employees on August 12, 2021.

Vivage Senior Living leadership takes this decision very seriously. The research and data overwhelmingly confirm that vaccines are not only safe but the most reliable way to prevent the transmission of COVID-19. “For Vivage Senior Living this is the way for us to move forward to protect our residents and employees that we care for,” said Jay Moskowitz, CEO and President of Vivage Senior Living.

“This is a difficult decision knowing the impact on staff but in order to serve our primary mission to prioritize the health and safety of our residents this is the right thing to do,” said Greg Gahm, MD, Corporate Medical Director for Vivage Senior Living.

Our organizations’ mission is focused on a commitment to quality care that is supported by this vaccination requirement.
