As part of the visit, Parkview View Care Center hosted a vaccine clinic offering free COVID vaccines and boosters.  The staff at Parkview Care Center have a 99% vaccination rate.  Secretary Becerra commented on this rate, stating that “You don’t get to nearly 100% vaccination among your staff unless your team is committed to get it done.  You can’t buy that.”

Secretary Becerra is working to increase vaccinations and vaccine confidence in the Latino community.  Throughout his trip to Denver, Secretary Becerra engaged with local elected leaders, residents, and health care workers.  Secretary Becerra also visited Children’s Hospital to discuss RSV prior to arrival at Parkview.

Xavier Becerra is the 25th Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services and the first Latino to hold the office in the history of the United States.
