What We Offer: Care Services
Rehabilitation Services to Restore Function
Our interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals offers intensive support for inpatient guests at Aviva at Fitzsimons in Aurora, Colorado, and outpatient services for residents in our neighboring communities along the Front Range.
Occupational Therapy
Individuals with an injury or challenges impacting everyday tasks and activities may benefit from working with an occupational therapist.
While recovering at Aviva at Fitzsimons, guests have the option to work one-on-one with occupational therapists in our mock apartment, complete with a kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, and laundry area. This simulated environment provides hands-on experience to improve the ability to perform activities of daily living and maintain their independence.
Physical Therapy
Physical therapy can provide support for someone living with a challenge specifically related to movement and can help them on the road to recovery. Balance training exercises can help maintain a center of gravity and a sense of stability, while gait training can improve walking habits and help avoid injury. Range of motion exercises can alleviate joint stiffness and ease pain while improving flexibility and strength. All of these types of therapy will provide support during one’s recovery journey.
Speech and Language Therapy
For guests who have suffered a stroke, brain injury, or other health issue that has affected their communication ability, limiting speech, language, and/or swallowing skills, Aviva offers the services of a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP). SLPs assess communication and swallow difficulties and provide skilled interventions that help improve cognition, speech production, fluency, language, voice, resonance, hearing, and all aspects of swallowing to enjoy meals safely.
Respiratory Therapy
Respiratory Therapy specializes in providing healthcare for your lungs and can benefit those with asthma, pneumonia, emphysema, COPD, lung disease, lung training, and other related medical conditions.
Skilled Nursing Care and Chronic Disease Management
Aviva at Fitzsimons has licensed and trained nursing team members on-site to administer the advanced care patients need to avoid rehospitalization and focus on recovering from a recent hospitalization or serious health event. In addition to receiving 24-hour care and assistance from our skilled nursing team members, individual progress is carefully monitored to promote a healthy recovery without complications.
